Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical Ningen Dock take?

The screening and your physician consultation are completed in a single day. Your complete written results are emailed to you after you return home.

Is the Ningen Dock covered by insurance?

In most cases, no. Ningen Dock is considered an elective, comprehensive preventive screening and is generally not covered by U.S. or Japanese health insurance. We provide detailed receipts that may be useful for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) in some cases.

Do I need to speak Japanese?

No. All medical staff involved with our international patients at our partner clinic speak fluent English. Our U.S. team is also available throughout your trip.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 3–4 months in advance, especially if you have preferred travel dates. Popular periods (cherry blossom season and autumn) tend to fill up earlier.

What if something is found during the screening?

A physician will discuss any significant findings with you before you leave Japan. Your complete written results and recommendations are then emailed to you once you are home, and we help coordinate any necessary follow-up with physicians in the United States.

Can I bring a spouse or travel companion?

Absolutely. Many guests travel with a partner or friend. We can arrange screenings for multiple people and offer special pricing for companions on the travel and logistics side.

What makes MyMirai different from booking directly?

We provide end-to-end coordination from the United States, including pre-trip consultation, personalized package recommendations, travel planning support, and post-trip follow-up. You have a dedicated point of contact before, during, and after your journey.
